GEOGRAPHICAL STUDIES OF TOPONYM OF KHMELNYTSKYI REGION

The study and research of geographical names, a separate administrative region, makes it possible to analyze how the influence role natural resources, history settlement development territory have affected life population. Geographical nomenclature certain is called toponymy this region. Toponymy especially important for such disciplines as physical geography, topography, local history, historical cartography, economic social geography.
 In article concept toponyms considered, their classification given. toponymic zoning Khmelnytskyi region proposed. geographical, historical, cultural conditions on emergence investigated. process decommunization derussification names studied highlighted.
 analysis source base shows that closely connected with its settlement. system under different epochs underwent constant changes influenced toponym formation.
 After analyzing formation 131 rivers in length which more than 10 km, we obtained following results: largest number are formed by characteristic properties (features) water bodies, namely 23.3%. Also, large related location body - 20%. smallest soil features 1.5%. Of 18 analyzed lakes associated body, 6 (Lake Krugle, Lake Ezerske, Novostavske, Terebizh, Lisova Pisnya, Lisove).
 Comonyms astionyms divided into thirteen groups. rural settlements derived from person's own name or surname (37.3%). Out 37 16 belong anthroponyms. whose surname. oikonyms memorial origin (1.5%)
 On basis spatial localization types similar topoformant uniqueness correlation, objectively existing hierarchical units were distinguished. calculation morphometric, well characteristics Khmelnytsky allowed allocate: Volyn macro-region (1 rayon 2 sub-rayons); Podil (3 rayons 9 Pivdenopodilskyi (2 4 sub-rayons).
 Within framework de-Russification during 2022, 800 streets lanes renamed, about 1300 objects should be renamed.
